Preparing Files for Press

For best results please follow our guidelines below. If you need assistance, please call us and speak with one of our representatives at (888) 892-5812.

FILE FORMAT:

We accept the following file formats TIF, TIFF, JPG, EPS, AI, PSD, and PDF.

FILE SIZE:

The maximum file size acceptable is 30MB (megabytes) per file.

RESOLUTION:

All file formats must have a minimum of 300 dpi (dot per inch) resolution.
The images designed for the web are done at a low screen resolution of 72 dpi. Print images need to be created at 300 dpi or there will be a substantial drop in quality.

COLOR MODE:

All color artwork and/or images must be provided in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color mode.
All black & white artworks and/or images must be provided in grayscale color mode.
Heavy black ink might cause smearing.

BLEED:

Bleed must extend further that the cut line.  It is recommended that each file bleed 1/8” (.125)

What's a bleed?

It is the portion of the card that will be trimmed off when cut to the final size.

Why bleed?

The purpose of a bleed is to continue a color, image or design to the edge of the card.

In the example image below, you will see the blue line indicates the "safe zone" - the area that is safe from cutting. All important information should be within this area. The red line indicates the cut line. The black line indeicates the total size of your artwork, as all artwork should extned past the cut line by 1/8” (.125).

FONTS:

a. Fonts must be embedded in PDF files.
b. Fonts must be outlined or converted to outlines in Adobe Illustrator files, (.eps or .ai)
c. Some fonts have copyright restrictions and will not embed in PDF Files.

SAFE ZONE:

All critical elements (text, images, logos, etc.) must be kept at least 0.125" inside the edge. Anything left close to edge may be cut off during trimming.

BORDERS:

Please allow 1/8" cutting space around your files. No borders are recommended, as shifting in the cutting process may make borders appear uneven.

HOW TO SETUP FILE FOR PROPER ROTATION:

iPrintEasy.com requires Print Ready files with proper rotation. Files submitted are printed HEAD to HEAD as-is based off your files.
